DR. MELINDA HIERHOLZER
Dr. Melinda Hierholzer is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with extensive experience in pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric urgent care, and pediatric hospitalist care.
Driven by a commitment to her community, she is excited to bring a fresh approach to pediatric care by offering same day / next day appointments for pediatric acute care. Her goal is to bridge the gap when you are unable to access your primary physician and provide a valuable alternative to local emergency rooms and urgent cares. Her services are a unique offering to the area providing a level of care only an experienced Board-Certified Pediatrician can deliver.
The establishment of Whole Health Pediatrics marks a significant milestone for the community. It will extend the benefits of the Whole Health philosophy to the youngest family members, offering comprehensive healthcare tailored to individuals aged 0 to 18 years.

Dr. Hierholzer has worked in the area for over 12 years. She worked as a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Florida Hospital Tampa.
She worked as a pediatric emergency medicine and hospitalist physician at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and Manatee Memorial Hospital.
She served as a pediatric clinical educator for family medicine residents at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
She also worked with Pediatric Associates providing pediatric telemedicine care statewide for Florida families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most recently, she served as Medical Director for After Hours Pediatrics Urgent Care in Naples, while actively practicing as an urgent care pediatrician in Naples, South Tampa, and Brandon.

She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University - College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
She completed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.

On a personal level, Dr. Hierholzer is passionate about a health-conscious lifestyle and a holistic approach to well-being.
She has strong interests in nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle medicine. She has called Lakewood Ranch home since 2011. She enjoys being part of the community with her husband and four children.
